Splish Splash ~ Kaitlyn's 6th Birthday Bash

When I received a note from Tish, asking if I could make an invitation for her daughter, Katie's, 6th birthday celebration....and it was mermaid themed...I was so excited. I had not made anything mermaid before~actually I had seen my daughter make mermaids with the Cricut and they were adorable, so I was looking forward to seeing what I could put together.
Tish gave me the wording and I cut away. The crab worked out well, as you will see on the favors~ just in case the boys attending weren't into mermaids.
I knew she enjoyed party planning and presentation and when she sent me a picture of a random prop she found at Lowe's, I knew she was a woman after my own heart!

The cake was so much fun!! I love all of the details. The lollipop octopus is great!  And pudding filled fishy cupcakes! Yum!!  (made by Cakes 4 Kids )
Just at the time we were discussing favors, One Charming party put up a tutorial for sponge balls. I shared them with Tish and she thought they would be perfect for the pool party. (my own tutorial of my sponge ball making experience)
Holy favors, right?  They look so great all put together!! I had picked up the mini drink buckets at the Dollar Store~one of those 'just because they were cute' purchases! I was walking by them on my shelf one afternoon while working on the stickers and I couldn't resist contacting Tish. I was so excited ~ she agreed, they were perfect for the favors! But as we all know, when you find a great deal on something...buy alot...because they are usually gone when you go back. After checking six Dollar Stores in two states, we had just enough for Kaitie's special guests!
I love what she did with the mermaid and crab centerpieces. And the neatest part is that these are shells they collected on a recent family vacation.

And here she is ~ the beautiful birthday girl, Miss 6 year old Kaitlyn!
Thank you so much for letting me be a small part of your awesome birthday celebration!!
